This chicken dog food recipe is a special one because it was our very first creation. We searched for a commercial dog food that our dog would enjoy. No matter what we tried, our dog refused to eat prepackaged meals. We experimented with a few combinations, such as chicken soup dog food and brown rice dog food, before finally coming up with this enticing dish. Although it lacks in a few vitamins, it is overall a well balanced homemade dog food chicken recipe and can easily be supplemented for a well rounded meal plan. DirectionsThe first step is to prepare brown rice. We used a rice cooker to guarantee the perfect tenderness, but you can use more traditional methods. New crop rice is ideal for higher quality and taste benefits. Place deboned chicken and vegetables in a large sauce pan. We chose dark meat chicken over light; however this is completely up to you. Add water and stir until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Once the chicken is cooked through, drain excess liquid and add rice as well as two spoonfuls of canola oil. Stir on low heat for about one minute or until remaining water has evaporated. |
